Session Description
Is having more kids at youth group enough to say, my ministry is a success? Think through how - with some minor adjustments - you can really help your students develop a life-long faith. Explore the appropriate involvement of parents and why the tension you and your kids feel about their presence is God-given and valid. Also, discover why your goals in youth ministry are similar, but a bit more complicated than those in the children's ministry department. ![]() Dave Teixeira Dave has been ministering to families through the local church for over ten years and currently serves as the Children, Youth & Family Pastor of Ventura Missionary Church in Ventura, California. Entrenched in the process of building an integrated family ministry at VMC, Dave is the co-author (along with Mark Holmen) of Take It Home, a resource to help churches empower parents. Dave not only works to help families pass on faith to their kids, he and his wife Amy have two children of their own. “Passing on a relationship with Jesus Christ is something I face every day when I look into the eyes of my kids. I know how hard it is to be the family God calls us to be, and I want the church to be a place where families can go for help and support.” ![]() www.vmc.net |
