Session Description
Sometimes, churches have incredible talent, but because they may lack organization and empowerment of their leaders, their arts ministry never really “soars”. Artists become tired and frustrated, confusion reigns, and enthusiasm of even the most passionate artist fizzes. In this session we will talk about empowering leadership, developing clear lines of accountability and some other very practical ideas for building an arts ministry that will last. You will have an opportunity to think about the leadership structure of your own ministry, and you will obtain some tools that will enable you to dream about the future. Other topics to be covered are, keeping your leadership team (deacons or elders) involved in the process of change, making your arts ministry “easy to break into” for newcomers and younger people, and sustainability for you and your artists. ![]() Gary Sharpe Born near Fredericton, NB, he was a civil engineer/project manager of highway construction in Toronto, when he heard God’s call to full-time ministry in the area of worship.
